The surroundings

Côte de Fumel lies in the heart of a picturesque hilly landscape dotted with charming villages, ancient churches and graceful manor houses, often perched on scenic hilltops. The region is also home to numerous bastides — fortified medieval towns built on strategic heights during the late Middle Ages. Among the most beautiful are Tournon, Roquecor, Montcuq and Beauville, with particular gems such as Penne-d’Agenais, Monflanquin and Lauzerte.

The estate is perfectly positioned between the Cahors wine region to the east and the Bordeaux vineyards to the west — an ideal base for wine lovers. Visiting a few local caves to taste and compare is an experience not to be missed.

From Côte de Fumel, you can enjoy a wide range of activities: hiking, canoeing on the Lot River, cycling through the rolling countryside, swimming, or a game of tennis in a nearby village. Enjoy culinary delights in one of the charming restaurants, gourmand markets, local table d’hôtes, and wine tastings, all while savoring refined regional cuisine. Discover the region’s rich history and vibrant culture – from small village museums and galleries to festivals and craft markets.

Here, among the vineyards, forests, and bastides, you’ll experience true French country life – tranquil, refined, and with an irresistible charm.

The business and potential

Côte de Fumel represents a well-maintained and immediately profitable boutique hospitality business, combining three gîtes and a small campsite in an exceptional setting. Its combination of charm, atmosphere and authenticity makes it particularly popular with guests seeking comfort and peace in the heart of South-West France. The three gîtes and campsite pitches are currently rented out during the summer months. In addition, the owners host convivial table d’hôtes dinners twice a week – adding both an extra source of income and a personal touch for their guests. Despite operating an intentionally limited season (from June to mid-August) and adopting an adults-only concept (guests aged 16+), the business achieves a turnover between € 30,000 and €40,000 per season. Côte de Fumel combines proven profitability with a unique lifestyle — a rare opportunity to live, work and thrive in one of the most beautiful regions of France, where tranquillity, nature and hospitality meet.
